What You'll Find
If your kids love swimming, Andersonstown Leisure Centre in West Belfast is definitely one to add to your list! This isn't just your usual swimming pool. There's a whole indoor water play area, three big water slides and even an indoor surfing simulator.
For younger children, the Aqua Play area is brilliant. There's a water playground with little slides, rope bridges, water jets and a huge tipping bucket that gives everyone a soaking! It's designed for children under 12, with plenty for them to explore.
There's also the Little Lagoon, a shallow toddler pool with interactive water features and a wide slide that grown-ups can enjoy with their wee ones. A lovely option if you've got smaller children who aren't quite ready for the bigger slides.
For older kids who love a bit of excitement, there are three big water slides, including a vertical drop slide! And if they fancy trying something a little different, there's also Surf Belfast, an indoor surfing simulator where you can have a go at riding the waves without ever leaving Belfast. It's a brilliant activity for older children and grown-ups, although it needs to be booked separately and age and height restrictions apply.
The centre has a main swimming pool and a teaching pool too, so there's something for different ages and swimming abilities.
One thing worth knowing is that you need to book the right session. Family Fun Swim gives you access to Aqua Play, Little Lagoon and the main pool, while the Water Slides session includes the bigger slides too.
There's also a café on site, handy for a coffee or a little treat afterwards.

- ⭐Check the height restrictions before promising the bigger slides, as not every child over 8 will be tall enough.

- ⭐Arrive with plenty of time to get changed so you can make the most of your swimming session.
