Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
At a Glance
An unforgettable coastal adventure with a 1km walk from the car park to the famous rope bridge, suspended almost 100ft above the Atlantic Ocean. Cross the 20-metre bridge onto Carrick-a-Rede Island, explore around the historic fisherman’s cottage and enjoy incredible views towards Rathlin Island and the Scottish islands. There’s also plenty of wildlife and seabirds to spot along the coastal path, plus a tearoom for a treat afterwards. Pre-booking is essential to cross the bridge, and families should be aware there are steep paths, lots of steps and uneven ground.
Before You Visit
The rope bridge is a timed, ticketed experience and weather can affect access, so check availability and conditions before travelling. The walk from the car park to the bridge includes uneven ground and steps.
Top Tips
Wear proper footwear and allow more time than you think for the walk there and back. If anyone in the family isn't keen on heights, the coastal walk and views are still worth enjoying without crossing.
