What You'll Find
Castle Coole is a beautiful National Trust estate just outside Enniskillen, and a lovely spot for a family walk with the kids!
There's a huge mansion surrounded by woodland, open parkland and a lovely lake, with plenty of paths to explore. It's one of those places where you can enjoy a little wander or spend a few hours exploring the grounds.
The woodland walks are lovely, especially in autumn when the leaves are changing colour. Keep an eye out for squirrels, birds and other wildlife along the way, and see what the wee ones can spot around the lake.
And you can't miss the mansion! Castle Coole is a beautiful 18th-century house, and the kids might enjoy seeing just how grand it looks from the outside.
You can also take a guided tour inside the house when tours are running. It's a lovely way for older children to discover what life was like in a grand country house, although I'd check the tour arrangements before promising the kids a look inside.
There's plenty of space around the estate for a picnic, and the grounds are lovely for a family walk without having to venture too far from Enniskillen.
It's a great one if your wee ones enjoy woodland walks, spotting wildlife and exploring somewhere a little different.
