If your wee ones love climbing, Castlederg Playpark is definitely one to add to your list!

Located in Castle Park in the heart of Castlederg, this lovely playground opened in November 2024 and has a brilliant wooden castle-themed climbing frame that really makes it stand out.

The big wooden castle is the main attraction, with towers, climbing walls, ropes and a slide for little adventurers to explore. It's a great one for children who love climbing and figuring out different ways to reach the top!

There's also inclusive play equipment and interactive play areas, giving wee ones different ways to join in and enjoy the playground.

And something I love about this one is the little nod to Castlederg's history. The playground has its very own wooden castle, while the remains of a real old castle can be found nearby!

Once the kids have finished playing, you can enjoy a little wander along the paths around Castle Park or head into Castlederg town centre.

There's also a café and garden centre nearby, handy if you fancy grabbing a coffee or a little treat while you're in the area.

Best of all, the playground is completely free, with free parking too!

Before You Visit

The big wooden castle has climbing walls, ropes and raised sections, so younger children may need a little help exploring some parts.

There are no toilets at the playground, so I'd recommend making a toilet stop before arriving with younger children.

The park has pathways if you fancy bringing the pram along for a little walk afterwards.
