What You'll Find
If your wee adventurers love getting out on their bikes or scooters, Connswater Community Greenway in East Belfast is a brilliant one to add to your list!
Stretching for around 16km, this lovely network of walking and cycling paths connects different parts of East Belfast, taking you alongside rivers, through green spaces and past some fantastic places to explore with the kids.
And don't worry, you definitely don't have to tackle the whole 16km! One of the best things about the Greenway is that you can choose a little section to suit your family, whether that's a short stroll, a scooter adventure or a longer cycle.
One of the highlights has to be C.S. Lewis Square, where you'll find seven amazing bronze sculptures inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
The kids will love spotting Aslan, the White Witch and the other characters dotted around the square. It's a lovely little adventure in itself, especially if you've read the books or watched the films together!
There are also playgrounds to discover along the Greenway, including Loop River Playground at Ladas Park and Flora Street Playground. These are brilliant for breaking up a walk or cycle with a bit of playground fun.
Another lovely stretch takes you through Victoria Park, where you can enjoy the open green spaces, watch for wildlife and cross the Sam Thompson Bridge towards the Titanic Quarter.
Along the way, you'll pass rivers, little woodland areas and some interesting corners of East Belfast that you might never otherwise discover.
It's a fantastic free option for families who enjoy walking, cycling or scooting, with the added bonus of being able to turn your outing into a proper wee adventure with a few stops along the way!
