Crumlin Road Gaol

Fascinating historic attraction offering an immersive look inside Belfast’s former Victorian prison, which operated for around 150 years. Families can explore the holding cells, C-Wing, Governor’s area, hospital, graveyard, condemned man’s cell and the famous tunnel linking the Gaol to the old courthouse, with interactive audio-visual displays bringing the history to life. There are self-guided experiences as well as guided tours on selected days, plus special events and experiences throughout the year. It’s particularly suited to older children and teens interested in history.
