Dromara Pump Track / Lagan Park

If you have a child who loves their bike or scooter, Dromara’s pump track is well worth knowing about. Set within Lagan Park, the track has a series of humps and banked turns where children can practise building confidence and keeping their momentum. It is a lovely place to watch them improve lap by lap. There is more to do than ride, too: the park also has a play area and sports space, which is particularly handy if you have children of different ages.

A pump track is a little different from an ordinary cycle path. The idea is to use the humps and bends to keep moving, and children often love seeing how much smoother they can ride after a few laps. Beginners can take it slowly while more confident riders practise their technique. With a playground and other park space close by, it is a useful option when not everyone in the family wants to ride.
