What You'll Find
Dromore Town Park is a lovely spot just outside Dromore town centre, with a fantastic playground, a pump track and riverside walks to explore. It's a great choice if you've got children of different ages, especially if they enjoy climbing, scooting and discovering little things along the way.
The playground has had a £250,000 makeover, and there's a brilliant selection of equipment for the wee ones to enjoy. Younger children have a ramped play unit, toddler swings and smaller equipment, while older adventurers can tackle the large climbing tower, zip line and rope swing.
One of the things I really like about this playground is the amount of inclusive equipment. There's an accessible roundabout, an inclusive trampoline, a harness swing, basket swing and sensory play panels. There's even a spring rocker designed to allow children to transfer onto it. It's lovely to see so many different ways for children to enjoy playing together.
And don't forget to bring the bikes or scooters!
Right beside the playground, you'll find a children's pump track where the kids can practise riding over the bumps and around the bends. It's a great little extra, particularly if you've got older children who might want something different from the playground.
There's more to explore beyond the play area too.
The River Lagan runs alongside the park, with walking paths taking you past the old Mill Weir and the Pinnacle. Keep following the riverside and you'll also get a look at the impressive Dromore Viaduct, an old railway structure that towers above the surrounding landscape.
It's a lovely walk to enjoy after the playground, with plenty of opportunities to stop and look out for wildlife along the river.
You'll also find picnic areas around the park, so bring a few snacks or lunch if you're planning to stay a while.
And if you fancy a coffee or something to eat afterwards, Dromore town centre is only a short distance away, with cafés and little places to stop for a treat.

Before You Visit
The playground has a good mix of equipment for younger and older children, including several inclusive play features.
If you're planning to use the pump track, bring bikes or scooters along with properly fitted helmets.
The River Lagan runs alongside the park, so keep younger children close when exploring the riverside paths.
Some of the paths may be muddy or slippery after rain, so suitable shoes are a good idea if you're planning a walk.
There's no café within the park itself, so bring drinks and snacks if you're planning to spend a few hours here.
