One of the highlights of Garvagh Forest is the Pyramid, a fascinating old stone structure tucked away in the woodland.
And what better way to encourage those little legs to keep walking than telling them there's a pyramid to discover?
Follow the forest paths through the trees, keeping an eye out for birds, interesting plants and little woodland creatures along the way.

Once you've discovered it, it's a great spot to stop for a wee snack, take a photograph and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading back.
There are also wider forest tracks where children may enjoy bringing their scooters or balance bikes, although some sections are steeper, rougher and more gravelly than others.
And depending on the time of year, the forest can feel completely different!
In autumn, the woodland is filled with colourful leaves, while spring and summer bring plenty of greenery and opportunities to spot wildlife.
