What You'll Find
Lambeg Play Park is a small, no-frills council play park tucked just off the Lambeg Road in Lisburn. It's the sort of place you're glad exists when you've half an hour to fill and no intention of spending anything: an outdoor play area, a bit of fresh air, and children who come back to the car considerably calmer than they left it.
The park was refurbished by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council in 2019, so what you'll find is a modern play area rather than the older-style park that stood here before. It sits in Lambeg village, which makes it easy to reach and easy to fold into something else — a walk, a visit to family, or the school run home.
What it isn't is a destination playground. We couldn't confirm a café or toilets here, so don't plan your day around either. Treat it as a good local play park and you'll get exactly what you came for: a free run about, close to home, with no booking and no fuss.
Wee Ones Will Love...
- ✓A proper run about in the fresh air with nothing to pay
- ✓Their favourite bit of play equipment, whatever that happens to be
- ✓A quick play that doesn't need a whole afternoon planned around it
- ✓Being close enough that you can call in on the way past
Before You Visit
Lambeg Play Park is free and doesn't need booking. Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has confirmed the park is open, and it's listed on the council's current play parks page at Lambeg Road, Lisburn, BT27 4QA.
We couldn't confirm the parking arrangements at the park, so check before you visit rather than assuming there's a car park. The council consulted in summer 2026 on a proposed 13-space car park on Station Road — that is a proposal only, not something to set off expecting.
We couldn't confirm toilets, baby changing or a café at the park, so plan a stop before you set out and treat this as a play stop rather than a full outing.
⭐ Wee Adventurers Top Tips
- ⭐Save the play park for the end of your trip — a tired child and a car seat are a far easier combination.
- ⭐Check the parking before you set out — we couldn't confirm what's available at the park.
- ⭐Bring a ball or a scooter if there's room in the car; village parks rarely go to waste.
- ⭐Check the council's play parks page before you set out, in case of a temporary closure for repairs.
