Full Description
Pomeroy Forest Park is a brilliant free family adventure, especially if your wee ones love fairytales! Hidden among the trees are 18 nature-inspired sculptures, with characters and scenes from stories such as Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel. It turns a forest walk into a little treasure hunt, with something new to look for along the way.
There are different routes depending on how far little legs want to go. The Renardine Nursery Trail is around 1km and is a lovely option for younger children, while the Fairytale Trail is approximately 2.2km and takes you deeper into the woodland. If you fancy something longer, the Grace Drennan Eco Trail is around 2.4km, with information about the plants and wildlife living in the forest.
You'll find natural play areas, interactive art and opportunities to climb, balance and use your imagination as you go. The playpark is roughly halfway along the family route, which makes a perfect break before carrying on. There's also a visitor building with a coffee dock and useful family facilities, although refreshments can change.
With magical sculptures, peaceful woodland and plenty of little surprises, this is a lovely way to get children excited about going for a walk.
What You'll Find
