Full Description
Tannaghmore Gardens really does have a bit of everything! The playpark alone is worth a visit, with tube slides, a zip line, sand and digging area, big rope swing and an in-ground trampoline. Little ones can also enjoy the pretend farm shop and tractor play area.
But don't head home after the playground. There's a free rare-breed animal farm where children can meet animals traditionally kept on Ulster farms, including Irish Moiled and Dexter cattle, Galway sheep, Saddleback pigs and poultry. It's a lovely opportunity to see breeds they might not come across every day.
The gardens are another adventure altogether. Follow the wooden sculpture trail, wander through tunnels of trees, enjoy the flower displays and see if the wee ones can find their way around the maze. There's even a traditional gate trail featuring 17 different styles of gates, named after local townlands.
If everyone still has energy, the walking and cycling paths continue towards Craigavon Lakes. There's also open space for a picnic or a family game. You could easily spend much longer here than you first planned.
What You'll Find
Families can explore the gardens and wider parkland and visit the animal area, where little ones can see a variety of farm animals. There’s plenty of space to slow down and enjoy the outdoors.
