Full Description
Ulster Museum is a lovely way to turn a family day out into a little journey through history and discovery. Set in Belfast Botanic Gardens, there's much more to explore than you might expect from a museum visit.
Inside and around the attraction you'll discover dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt, natural-history displays, art and local history across several floors. Take your time, let the children choose what catches their attention and enjoy the chance to learn something new together. With older children, it's a great opportunity to ask questions and chat about the stories behind the exhibits.
You don't have to see absolutely everything in one visit. Choosing a few areas to explore properly often works much better with little legs and short attention spans. It's a great addition to a day exploring the surrounding area, and a welcome option when the weather isn't on your side.
What You'll Find
Explore galleries covering natural sciences, local and world history, art and archaeology. Displays range from ancient objects to animals and fossils, so children can jump between completely different discoveries as they explore.
