What You'll Find
Beyond the Trees Avondale is a refreshing Wicklow day out, and the treetop walk is the standout. What we really like is how much there is to do through the forest before you even reach the viewing tower; it turns the walk into an interactive adventure rather than just a hike, which keeps children interested the whole way up.
The Treetop Walk itself is a gentle, fully accessible elevated walkway through the canopy: no climbing or harnesses, just a steady ramp up to the 38-metre Viewing Tower. The giant spiral slide is the exciting way back down (it's optional and costs extra). Back on the ground there's a playground, a wooden marble run that children love, forest trails through the estate and the restored walled gardens. Avondale House runs separate tours, best suited to older children (recommended for ages 8+).
The Seed Café is handy for lunch or coffee, and the gardens and forest give plenty to enjoy even if not everyone wants to do the slide. The Treetop Walk and Viewing Tower are fully wheelchair accessible, which makes this a more inclusive option than many adventure attractions, and there's a large on-site car park, though a parking charge applies.

Before You Visit
The treetop walk and tower are fully accessible. The spiral slide costs extra and is weather dependent — it can close in wet conditions, so don't promise it until you know it's running. Children aged 0–3 are free for the Treetop Walk. Advance booking is recommended.
