What You'll Find
Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex in Newtownards is one of those places that's really handy to know about when you've got kids of different ages. There's so much more here than just a swimming pool, with soft play, a brilliant little splash pool and even an outdoor playground!
For younger children, the Splash Pool is a big hit. It's a shallow water play area designed for children aged 7 and under, with water jets, spray cannons, a little slide and plenty of opportunities for splashing about. Perfect for toddlers and younger children who aren't quite ready for a big swimming pool.
There's also an indoor soft play area for children aged 7 and under. You'll find slides, swing rings, a ball pool and plenty of obstacles for the wee ones to climb, crawl and explore. A great option for a rainy day, especially if you fancy sitting down for a little while as they play.
If your kids enjoy swimming, there's also a main swimming pool and a smaller pool used for lessons and other swimming sessions. Just check the timetable before heading over, as different pools are available at different times.
And there's plenty to enjoy outside too! The complex has a large outdoor playground with accessible play equipment, a sensory garden and an accessible swing. Older kids might enjoy bringing their bikes or scooters along for the pump track and wheelpark.
One of the nicest things about Ards Blair Mayne is that you can easily combine a couple of activities. You could book the wee ones into soft play or the Splash Pool, then head outside for a play afterwards.
There's also Parklands Café on site, overlooking the outdoor playground, which is always a bonus when you fancy a coffee or something to eat while you're out with the kids.

Before You Visit
The Splash Pool is designed for children aged 7 and under, and adults must supervise children in the water at all times.
Soft play is suitable for children aged 7 and under, with a maximum height of 130cm. Sessions last around 45 minutes to an hour, and socks must be worn.
Swimming, Splash Pool and soft play all have different sessions and charges, so check what's available before setting off.
The outdoor playground, pump track and wheelpark are separate from the indoor activities, so it's worth bringing suitable shoes or scooters if you're planning to explore outside too.
