Full Description
Castle Ward is a brilliant National Trust estate on the shores of Strangford Lough, with beautiful grounds, woodland walks and plenty of space for children to explore. It is one of those places where you can enjoy an outdoor adventure and discover a bit of history along the way.
The adventure play area gives little climbers somewhere to let off steam, while the estate trails lead through woodland and towards lovely waterside views. Older children may enjoy hearing about the unusual house and the estate’s filming connections. Pack a picnic, choose a trail to suit little legs and make a proper day of exploring.
This is a lovely choice when you want a day out with something a little different for the wee ones. Take your time, follow their interests and enjoy making memories together.
There's a play den in the Stableyard filled with play equipment and soft seats, so parents can rest while the children play, with the wider grounds for picnics and walks.
