Full Description
Kilbroney Forest Park in Rostrevor is one of those places where you can enjoy a playground, a magical forest trail and mountain scenery all in the same outing. The large adventure play area is a brilliant starting point for the wee ones, with the forest and Carlingford Lough making a gorgeous backdrop.
The Narnia Trail is a particular favourite for children who love stories and exploring. Look out for the sculptures and features inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia as you wander through the trees. Families with older children or confident walkers can head further into the forest towards the famous Cloughmore Stone for spectacular views, while mountain-bike trails add another adventurous side to the park.
It is easy to spend a good few hours here, especially if you bring a picnic and allow time for both play and walking. Choose the route that suits your youngest adventurer rather than feeling you need to tackle the mountain paths.
What You'll Find
Explore woodland trails, open spaces and family play areas around the park. Different routes let you choose a walk that suits your group, while the wider forest offers plenty for active families to discover.
