Full Description
Loughgall Country Park is a lovely place for a family day out, with a beautiful lake, wide green spaces and an adventure play area that's a bit different from your usual playground.
The Junior Adventure Trail is styled like a mini assault course, with swinging steps, a Burma Bridge and Tram Tracks to test little adventurers' balance and confidence. There's also a larger adventure play area, so children can enjoy plenty of climbing and exploring before heading off for a walk.
There are three walking and cycling routes, ranging from just over 3km to just under 6km, along with EcoTrails that include maps and activities you can download in advance. The routes are a lovely way to explore the parkland and lake, and the easier paths can work well for buggies and younger children. There's also a big grassy area for football, games or a picnic.
You'll spot the golf course and fishing lake as you explore, although those activities have their own arrangements. There's a multi-use games area for tennis and basketball too. We even managed to grab a coffee from Glaze & Roll on our original visit, although food operators may change.
It's a brilliant mix of adventure play, a family walk and plenty of space to relax.
