Mo Mowlam Play Park at Stormont Estate is a brilliant free playground for families, with a lovely setting in the grounds of one of Belfast’s best-known landmarks. It is an easy place to let the children burn off energy before heading out for a walk around the estate.

The playground gives little adventurers space to climb, explore and enjoy outdoor play, while the surrounding parkland offers lots of room to stretch their legs. Once the children have finished playing, take a wander along the estate paths and enjoy the trees, open spaces and views towards the Parliament Buildings.

This is a lovely option for a relaxed family morning or afternoon, especially if you pack a picnic. Stormont is a working estate with security arrangements and gates, so check current access and opening times before you travel.
