What You'll Find
If you're looking for a lovely wee spot in East Belfast where the kids can enjoy a playground and a woodland wander all in one, Belmont Park is worth adding to your list!
Tucked away just off Cairnburn Road, this park has a children's playground alongside plenty of green space, winding paths, trees and wildflower meadows to explore.
It's one of those places where you can pop in for a quick play and end up staying much longer because the kids have found something else to investigate!
The park has a lovely natural feel to it, with little wooded areas and open grassy spaces. During spring, the bluebells are a real highlight, bringing a gorgeous splash of colour to the woodland.
There's also a little bit of art to discover along the way! Keep an eye out for the large carved figures called Unmasked, which are part of the park's outdoor artwork. They're a fun little addition to a walk, especially if the kids enjoy spotting things along the way.
Belmont Park is split into two sections by the ring road, with a footbridge connecting them, so there's more to explore than you might first expect.
It's a lovely free option for a relaxed afternoon outdoors, whether you're visiting just for the playground or fancy a longer wander through the trees.

Before You Visit
You'll find the playground near the Cairnburn Road entrance, which is a handy place to start if you're visiting with younger children.
The park is divided by the ring road, with a footbridge linking the two sections. Keep little ones close when moving between areas, particularly around any road access points.
The walking paths take you through a mixture of open and wooded areas, so some sections may be a little muddy after wet weather.
There isn't a café within the park, but Ballyhackamore isn't far away if you fancy grabbing a coffee or something to eat afterwards.
The park follows Belfast City Council's seasonal opening and closing times, so bear that in mind if you're planning an evening visit.
