Full Description
Derry's Peace Bridge is a brilliant little adventure to add to a family day in the city. The sweeping pedestrian bridge crosses the River Foyle and connects the city centre with Ebrington and the Waterside, with lovely views along the river in both directions.
For the wee ones, crossing the bridge can be an adventure in itself. Look out for boats on the river, count the different things you can see from the bridge and enjoy watching the city from a new angle. The broad pedestrian route is handy for a walk with a buggy, and older children may enjoy taking their scooters where it's safe and considerate to do so.
Once you're across, you can continue exploring the riverside and Ebrington, or head back towards the city centre for lunch or a treat. It isn't a destination playground, but it's a lovely free way to turn an ordinary city visit into a little family adventure.
What You'll Find
Cross the River Foyle on the pedestrian and cycle bridge, enjoy views up and down the river and continue towards St Columb’s Park or back into the city centre.
