Before You Visit
Do NOT park on Bregagh Road — there are warning signs and fines for roadside parking, and it damages the trees and endangers pedestrians. Use the official car park at the Dark Hedges Estate (£5 per car) or the free car park at the Hedges Hotel (139A Ballinlea Road, Stranocum, Ballymoney, BT53 8PX), both a 2-4 minute walk away. Toilets are available at the Estate car park. The avenue can be busy with tourists and photographers, so visit early or late for the best experience.
Top Tips
- ⭐Park at the Dark Hedges Estate or Hedges Hotel, never on Bregagh Road
- ⭐Visit early morning or late evening for fewer crowds and better light
- ⭐Combine with a trip to the Causeway Coast nearby
- ⭐Bring a camera — it is one of NI's most photographed spots
