What You'll Find
Warrenpoint Municipal Park is a proper town park, tucked into the heart of Warrenpoint and free to enjoy. It's an easy stop if you're already in the area, with a playground, gardens and level paths all in one compact space.
The playground is the main draw for families, with wooden climbing equipment, slides and soft play surfacing. It works particularly well for toddlers and younger children, and there's room around it for older siblings to run about between turns.
Beyond the play area, the park opens into gardens and walkways, with a historic Edwardian bandstand that gives the whole place a lovely old-fashioned feel. The paths through the gardens are surfaced, so a lap or two with a buggy is straightforward once the children have had their fill of the equipment.
The park also has tennis courts. Access arrangements can vary, so it's worth checking with the council before you promise anyone a game.
Facilities make a visit simple: there are toilets, baby changing and accessible toilets on site, with seating around the gardens if you'd rather sit and watch than join in.
Because the park sits right in the middle of town, it's easy to build the rest of an afternoon around it — the town centre and its shops are only a short walk away.
