What You'll Find

Glen Park is a lovely little spot in Newtownabbey if you fancy combining a play park with a woodland walk. Tucked away just off Glenville Road, it's one of those places that's handy to know about when you want to get the kids out for an hour or two without spending anything.

There's a small children's playground, suitable for ages 3–12, along with lovely woodland surroundings and plenty of space for a walk. The park has mature trees and tarmac paths, making it a good option for families with prams or little ones who enjoy bringing their scooters along.

One of the nicest things about Glen Park is that it connects with the wider Threemile Water Park walking routes. You can follow the paths towards the impressive railway viaducts, so there's plenty to explore if the kids are happy to walk a little further.

It's not a huge adventure playground, but it's a lovely option for a quieter afternoon with a bit of playtime and a walk through the trees.

Wee Ones Will Love...

  • ✓Having a play in the small children's playground
  • ✓Exploring the woodland paths and spotting things along the way
  • ✓Bringing their scooters for a little adventure along the surfaced paths
  • ✓Seeing the huge railway viaducts on a longer walk
  • ✓Enjoying a play park and woodland walk in the same outing

Before You Visit

Some woodland paths may be uneven or muddy, particularly after rain, so sensible footwear is a good idea.

If you're bringing a pram or scooter, stick to the surfaced paths rather than the woodland trails.

⭐ Wee Adventurers Top Tips

  • ⭐Bring the scooters or pram if you fancy a walk after the playground.
  • ⭐If your little ones enjoy exploring, follow the woodland paths towards the railway viaducts.
  • ⭐Pack drinks and snacks as there are no confirmed café facilities within the park.
  • ⭐A lovely little free outing if you're in the Newtownabbey area and don't fancy somewhere too busy.
