Millisle is a lovely spot for a simple seaside day out because you can fit so much into one visit. The pirate-themed playground is a big draw for children who love climbing and pretending they are off on an adventure. Once everyone has had a good play, you can head along the promenade and take a look at the tidal seawater lagoon. There is also beach and green space nearby, so it is easy to spend longer here with buckets, spades and a picnic.

After a play, follow the promenade and take a look at the lagoon, then head for the sand if the tide and weather are suitable. The council's Beach Park here combines a play area with a multi-use games area, an outdoor gym and the Pirate Ship play feature, and the lagoon adds a paddling pool, jetty, slipways and a picnic area for warmer days.
